In addition to writing skills, Public Relations professionals must have:

  • Knowledge of public relations
  • Knowledge of current events
  • Knowledge of business
  • Knowledge of management

Important guidelines for writing:

  • Ask yourself questions and narrow down your purpose before beginning to write
  • Write clear, concise sentences, avoiding wordiness
  • Short, simple paragraphs are easier to read than longer ones
  • Use strong visual descriptions, rather than generalized statements
